EVENT OF THE WEEK: FILM at the Grave Creek Mound Archaeologicaly Complex

Thursday January 27 FREE showing begins at 7pm FILM- Pearl Harbor: Into the Arizona

Location: Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex in Moundsville, WV

The battleship USS Arizona sank during the infamous attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, at a cost of 1177 lives. Many of the bodies of those killed were never recovered and the ship is regarded as a cemetery and sacred space. Divers are not permitted entry to preserve the sanctity of the site, so remote underwater vehicles (ROVs) were used to take an in-depth look inside and assess its condition, revealing a moving picture of life aboard on that fateful morning.
