Brad Paisley- Letter to Me
Fools’ Parade

This 1971 film, based in depression era West Virginia, is centered around three released convicts who want to use the $25,000 earned during their forty year sentence to open a legitimate business. It featured stars such as James Stewart, George Kennedy, and Kurt Russel and was filmed entirely in Moundsville, WV. Be sure to inquire about Fools’ Parade during your time visiting places such as the WV Penitentiary, the Strand Theatre, and especially the author’s home at the Davis Grubb House. “The great mound and the penitentiary were bound together in ambiguous and dreadful brotherhood. One was the burial place of the unknown dead; the other the unknown living,” stated Davis Grubb in “The Valley of the Ohio.”
