“Moses C. Chapline, Hero of the American Revolution” at West Virginia Independence Hall

West Virginia Independence Hall in Wheeling will host the next program of the Fort Henry Speaker Series at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30. The program will be held in the auditorium on the lower level of WVIH and is free and open to the public.

 Jay Frey, Wheeling native, amateur historian and genealogist, will present “Moses Caton Chapline, Hero of the American Revolution.”

Chapline was among the earliest settlers in Wheeling, accompanying Ebenezer Zane, John Caldwell, John Good, Michael Cresap and Lawrence Washington to Ohio County. He also was among the pioneers who laid out the town of West Liberty.
