Joseph Gingerich, PhD, Assistant Professor of Anthropology, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Ohio University.

Lecture Topic: Ice Age Settelers: Colonization, Technology, and Material Culture

An overview of early  colonization of North America by hunter-gatherers during the last Ice Age, this program examines widely distributed evidence of human presence on the continent by 13,000 years ago. Evidence from archaeological sites in the Eastern United States is presented in a discussion of the technology and material culture of these early groups and to compare similarities in their lifeways.
